The night before, Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia, stood onstage at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. This would be the night Mrs. Clinton accepted the Democratic Party's nomination for president. The delegates reveled at the end as confetti rained down on Mrs. Clinton and she playfully swatted at the spill of balloons.
